The Golf Zone is a Family Challenge Mini-Golf built just like putting greens on a golf course. The holes are surfaced ~th a sand-filled Omni Grass® carpet seamed right into the natural grass surface making play very much like putting regulation golf greens. East Park is one of a select group of companies that includes Disney World, which have pioneered this surface technique in outdoor Miniature Golf environments. In fact, East Park is one of only two facilities in North America to apply a family themed multi-coloured surface to its' design, all other facilities have been built using a standard green surface.
The course concept was developed internally at East Park. Final detail design concepts where produced at lnterio, a London design firm while building and carpet specifications was provided by Sportexe of Fonthill, Ontario, the same company which consulted with Disney on their mini-golf installation. The course has been designed with four distinct themes. The first five holes are based on Movie themes.
The course then moves into game themes (including playing on a pool table and a checkers board). The third phase of the course is built around disaster themes including a rockslide and the Signature Hole - Dead Man's Curve, featuring an actual Fiero that just happened to miss the turn! The last phase of the course is designed around other East Park activities including baseball, golf, waterslide and go-kart themed holes.
East Park Golf Gardens is located on Hamilton Road in London, just east of Highbury. In addition to 36 holes of miniature golf, East Park features an 18 hole executive golf course, a driving range, batting cages, waterslides and a go-kart track.
